Ages 8 to 14
Skill, not noise.
Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMX for eight- to fourteen-year-olds, taught by certified coaches with a progression a child can see. This is where a young person who wants to get genuinely good comes to train.
What it is
The honest version.
- Three streams: Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMX
- Progress that is earned, and visible week to week
- Competition is available to anyone who wants it, and required of nobody
The three streams
Striking, grappling, and MMX.
Muay Thai Kickboxing is the stand-up work: stance, footwork and pad work with a coach, not only partner drills. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu runs the other way — position, control, escape, submit — in Gi and No-Gi classes. MMX puts the two together and trains them as one sport rather than two hobbies. The youth streams run separately from the adults, so your child trains with their own age group.
- Muay Thai Kickboxing — stance, footwork and pad work with a coach
- Brazilian Jiu Jitsu — Gi and No-Gi: position, control, escape, submit
- MMX — striking and grappling trained as one sport
- Youth and adult streams run separately
- The published youth trial is a choice of Muay Thai Kickboxing or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
How they progress
Earned, and visible.
Progress here is something a child can point at: a technique that did not work in September and works now, a round they can hold their shape through. Coaches correct individually, so nobody spends the hour doing repetitions at the back of the room. Competition is there for those who want it — Kru Yai Martello Jones coached one of our students to gold at the 2025 IFMA Youth World Championships — and it is never a condition of belonging here.
- Progress is earned, and visible week to week
- Coaches correct individually, not only from the front of the room
- A competition pathway for those who want one
- Memberships run month to month under FLEX8
The free trial
A website can only tell you so much.
Choosing an academy for your child is a big decision, and no page can settle it. That is why the trial class is free and it is a real class — your child joins our coaches and our students in the same structured, age-appropriate format we run every day. You will see how we teach, how we manage the room, and how we build skill through clear instruction and consistent standards. By the end of it you will have a much clearer picture of fit, and your child will know how it feels to be part of the team.
- Whether your child feels comfortable and motivated in our environment
- Whether our structure matches what you are looking for — discipline, confidence, fitness, focus
- How our coaching supports beginners while still challenging them to improve
- A real class, not a demonstration arranged for your benefit
- Comfortable shorts and a t-shirt; nothing is signed on the day
